The Tailgate Series

I am currently building a series of projects using antique truck tailgates.  As with the wood I use, the rust, dents, and imperfections are not fixed, but rather highlighted and showcased.

The Tailgate Bench

This beautiful bench was made from a 1980-86 Ford F150 Flare side pick-up truck, and the wood used is reclaimed 1950s California Redwood that was gathered from an old dock being reconstructed in New London.  This bench is currently for sale and the asking price is $1500. *Bench has been sold*

Ford Coffee Table

The tailgate is antique, but the rest of the table is made from new materials. The reason for this is that Matthew wanted to juxtapose the rough condition of the tailgate against the crisp, new frame around it.  This piece is currently for sale for $600.
